Cargo Worthy
Cargo Worthy is exactly as it states and is still in service being used to carry goods throughout the world. Keep in mind cargo worthy containers are still used containers, but they are superior to wind and water tight (WWT) in every way! And are very worthy for your storage needs!
Wind & Water Tight
Buyer Beware
Wind & Water Tight containers are left over, declassified garbage and can’t be used to carry cargo. Although they are still supposed to be like their name says, “Wind & Water Tight,” they often are not! In our experience at least 50% of the time! And we don’t like those odds and we’ll never gamble with your money.
Therefore, we at Quboxx will never sell you a WWT container, because they just don’t meet our standard of quality. Period!
You can fit a 2 bedroom home or a 3 bedroom apartment.

A house between 3 and 5 bedrooms can fit in a 40’ container.

It’s very possible to extend your container’s lifespan by many years. Well-treated containers are believed to be usable for 40 to 50 years.
In 2019, the international liner shipping industry transported approximately 226 million containers, with cargo transported valued at more than $4 trillion.
There are more than 6,000 ships carrying containers around the world at any point in time and an estimated 17 million containers themselves.
It is also estimated that 95% of all goods, sold, and traded will at some point have touched a shipping container.
The World Shipping Council’s 2020 report estimates that an average of 1,382 containers are lost at sea each year. The figure is based on a survey of the WSC members that represent 80% of the global vessel container capacity.
The WSC assumed for the purpose of the analysis that the container losses for the 20% of the industry’s capacity that is operated by carriers that did not participate in the survey would be roughly equivalent to the losses reported by the responding carriers representing 80% of the industry’s capacity. The report, however, was issued before the One Apus stack collapse in December 2020 that resulted in the loss of more than 1,800 containers in the Pacific Ocean.
If the floor is solid and well sealed, and if the door seals are in good condition and there are no ventilators fitted, the container may float for many hours, days and even months.
Indeed, if the cargo is watertight and it fills the majority of the space inside the container, the container may float indefinitely. In time, however, it will get damaged by waves, from hitting land, or due to the increased pressure of water.
A conservative estimate would be that containers lost in the sea float for three months on average.
